The Client

Groupon is an American global e-commerce marketplace connecting subscribers with local merchants by offering activities, travel, goods and services in 15 countries.

The Strategy

Our initial campaign with Groupon was to help increase rankings for the discount codes section of their site. We were tasked with optimising content, providing technical SEO recommendations and backlink growth for their properties in the UK, France, Germany and Italy.

As the campaign progressed, we expanded to work on their properties in Spain, Poland and Australia, branching out to work on their local offerings (to compete with the likes of Lonely Planet & TripAdvisor) and gift ideas for seasonal events.

The Results

After optimising the content on each property and growing backlink profile for hundreds of merchants in a highly competitive niche, we increased rank against name-brand competitors across the board.
