Monday Mentions : 27th October

So we’re a week (and a little bit) removed from all this Penguin hullabaloo, and apart from having a serious craving for chocolate covered bourbon biscuits, the only way is up it seems for our sites.

Algorithm updates are always fun to follow because everyone out there who writes about how it affects performance will show a mixture of speculation and solid data. We went this morning looking for the best articles out there right now talking about these changes and what anyone worried about the update can expect to see unfurl over the next few weeks.

This is a great (and detailed) read looking at how a few select sites have been doing since last week.

If Penguin was all about improving quality, it’s always worth a look under the hood and making sure the little things like title tags are doing good.

If you want to see how your title tags look in SERPs, we have made the Title Tag Pixel Meter for that very purpose!

Hocus Pocus was on TV yesterday kicking off the Halloween week. Disney is already well ahead with their planning though by dominating keyword ad spending.

Bing have launched their own universal event tracking system, bringing them closer to half being taken seriously.

And in case you missed it, we held our first Web Wednesday events in town last week at The Raven. You can see how we got on:
