Last night BDX, the content creation arm of Boyd Digital, held it’s first incarnation of Web Wednesdays. This new fortnightly digital meetup took place in The Raven right in the middle of town (great pulled pork by the way) and was a full house.
With it being the first event, much of the focus was on how to build a company, product or website and how to make the process easier when looking for help further afield. Grant compared the evening and opened the meetup with discussion on what everyone should be keeping an eye on in the digital marketing world, especially with the Penguin update currently in progress.
Gary-Eoghan gave a talk on how to research an idea or product and what content bests suits based on your findings, which was aptly enough done through the medium of beer and perfect for the setting.
Janis gave a talk on how to outsource almost any work you have to do as well as when you really should and shouldn’t outsource. We’ll be putting up links to those slides soon.
We also had the guys from Swipii give everyone a little insight in to their unique business and how they’re trying to bring the idea of customer loyalty to companies who would never have previously been able to attract customers in this way before.
To find when the latest meetups will be taking place, you can follow BDX Events on Facebook or Twitter, where you’ll find out what the upcoming meetup will be about, who’s speaking and what companies are coming along for a chat too.
